Our aim is to reach underprivileged communities across the globe, identifying their unique challenges and working alongside them to create meaningful, sustainable change. Guided by our vision, mission, and values, we seek out areas where children under 18 face barriers to clean water, nutritious food, and quality education. By engaging directly with local communities, we learn about their needs and collaborate on tailored solutions that respect their cultural identity and traditions. Our presence in each location is not about providing short-term aid but fostering independence, empowering children and their communities with the skills and resources to build a self sustaining future. From the villages we visit to the cities we serve, COPELI’s focus is on creating equitable opportunities for every child to thrive.
Currently, we are active in the following two locations and are in the process of extending our reach to a third.
This is where it all began. The name ‘copeli’ comes from the Cretan dialect (from the island of Crete in Greece), where it means ‘child’. This is the birthplace of COPELI, and from here, we aspire for it to grow, cross borders, and bring people together under its mission.
In 2021, we carried out our first pilot project, when COPELI was still just a vision. During this project, we renovated classrooms and restrooms in three public primary schools across various villages in Arusha.
